The Podcasts feature on LibreTime enables you to add subscriptions to podcasts, which are audio files that are often syndicated using an RSS feed URL. This feature allows your LibreTime instance to automatically download new episodes from the web.

It is important to note that while all podcasts available on iTunes have an RSS feed, it may not always be visible. Additionally, RSS feeds that don't end in .xml may be accepted by LibreTime but may fail to download episodes. A workaround to this issue is to use a podcast client such as gpodder to download the episode and then manually upload and schedule it. Similarly, podcast feeds from Anchor.fm may also have similar issues.

The Podcasts dashboard on LibreTime is similar to the tracks view, allowing you to add, edit, and remove podcasts. You can also sort podcasts by columns. To add a new podcast, simply click on the + Add button on the toolbar and provide the podcast's RSS feed, which usually ends in .xml. Once the feed is recognized, the editor pane opens for the podcast.

In the podcast editor, you can rename the podcast, update its settings, and manage its episodes. You can use the search box to find specific episodes within the feed. If you wish to import an episode directly into LibreTime, you can double-click on the episode or select it and click + Import. The podcast will then appear under tracks with the Podcast Name as the Album.

To delete an episode from LibreTime, simply select the episode and click on the red trash can on the toolbar.

Finally, if you would like LibreTime to automatically download the latest episodes of a podcast, ensure that the Download latest episodes option is checked. This feature can be used in conjunction with Smartblocks and Playlists to automate downloading and scheduling of the latest shows received via the podcast feed.
